The three floors created are very different from each other. The two-top floor with their mirror ceiling create an astonishingly open and bright space. The lighting emphasizes this feeling, the products displayed, and the materials used to frame the products. The shiny and reflective material create a challenging space to light. Where possible lighting was hidden allowing the materiality of the space to shine and not to distract from the products displayed. This was possible with the introduction of integral lighting. Mock ups ensured the right position and effect of the light has been achieved. It creates a space visually bright but without the light sources spoiling the shopping experience.
The visual language in the first floor is completely different. The black and rose marble on wall floor and ceiling create a vortex like long space drawing the visitor into it. The ambient lighting is kept lower with emphasize on the products only. This creates a more intimate space again with the focus on the products displayed. Same lighting principals as in the two floors above have been applied here, the number of luminaires and their position had to change to adapt to the space and creating a different effect.
